MORGANTOWN — University and Parkersburg South battled to a scoreless draw at Mylan Pharmaceuticals Stadium.
Scoring opportunities were minimal, as both defenses stood firm.
The best two chances of the game came in the second half, but both goalkeepers made big saves to keep the game scoreless.
With 20 minutes to play, University’s Corinne Grabow dove across the goal to stuff a close range Patriots’ shot.
The Hawks’s best chance came when Ari Christiansen was alone at the top of the box, but Patriots keeper Kendall Mader held on to a low hard shot to deny the opportunity.
University (1-0-1) will host Preston, at 6 p.m. Wednesday.
