Harry D. Ferrell, age 86, of Buckhannon, died Friday, August 17, 2018, at his home. He was born March 30, 1932, in Orgas, a son of the late Dewey and Minnie Wriston Ferrell.
On December 18, 1953, he married Margaret Kathleen Mynes who preceded him in death on February 2, 2018.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Farris E., Kermit A. and Eugene H. Ferrell.
He is survived by two daughters, Patti Baldwin and husband Mark, of Martinsburg and Pam Hebb, of Buckhannon; two grandsons, Justin Baldwin, of Morgantown and Cameron Hebb, of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; one granddaughter, Kathleen Baldwin, of Winchester, Va. and one sister, Joyce Swanigan, of Teays Valley.
Mr. Ferrell retired from Kroger’s after 43 years of service in Store Management. He was a member of the Rotary Club. He was an avid golfer and belonged to Sleepy Hollow Country Club, in Teays Valley, Pines Country Club, in Morgantown and Buckhannon Country Club, in Buckhannon. Mr. Ferrell was a master woodworker who made wonderful pieces of handcrafted furniture. He was an amazing gardener and he was an active member of the First United Methodist Church in Buckhannon.
Friends will be received at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home from 5 – 8 p.m. on Monday, August 20. Mr. Ferrell will Lie in State at the Keith Full Gospel Church, in Keith, from 11 a.m. – noon on Tuesday, August 21, with the funeral service to follow with Pastor Dorothy June Ferrell officiating. Burial will follow in the Pineview Cemetery, in Boone County.
