MORGANTOWN — Students gathered at the Evansdale Rec Fields to welcome the fall semester at WVU with the annual concert, FallFest, on Tuesday night.
WVU put on the show, which featured performers Lil Yachty, Brothers Osborne and MisterWives.
The evening started with MisterWives, a six-member group from New York City that performs dance music. Billboard describes the group’s sound as a combination of “pop, rock, indie and disco feels with guitars, saxophones, percussion and huge vocals to match.”
Brothers Osborne filled the second performance slot with a country/rock blend. Originally from Maryland, brothers John and TJ Osborne recently earned back-to-back Academy of Country Music (ACM) Duo of the Year awards and an ACM Music Video of the Year award for their Top 10, Grammy-nominated single, “It Ain’t My Fault.”
Lil Yachty, an Atlanta native, finished out the night with several songs from his album “Teenage Emotions.” The sing-er, rapper and producer was featured on several magazines for both his music and fashion sense. “Teenage Emotions” reached No. 5 on the Billboard Top 200 Chart and No. 4 on Billboard’s Hip Hop/R&B chart.
WVU students start classes this morning.
