Debra Joan “Tami” Johns passed away on August 9, 2018, in Elkview. Tammi was born and raised in Morgantown, a daughter of Christine Lynch and the late, Landis Earl Lynch Sr. She later moved to Charleston with the love of her life, Raymond Scott Johns and their beautiful daughter, Melissa.
Tami loved being a homemaker, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, daughter and friend. She was a loving, giving soul who lit up any space she was in. She would do anything for those around her. Her favorite title was Mimi given with all their hearts by her grandchildren, Alena, Madison, and Braxton Harper.
Tami was proud to serve as spokesperson for recruiting and retention battalion WV Army National Guard, where she took great pride in helping those who served and their families. She volunteered many years as a camp counselor with the West Virginia National Guard Kids Kamp.
Tami is survived by her loving husband, Scotty; daughter, Melissa (Richard) Harper; mother, Christine Lynch; brothers and sisters, Butch (Sharon) Lynch, Brenda (Stan) Wheeler, Danny Lynch, Vicki Lynch, Landis Lynch, Jr., Ruthanne (Doug) Harless; mother-in-law, Jean Johns; brother-in-law, Michael (Pat) Johns, and sister-in-law, Michaelle (Jeff) Haye; her grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Donna Lynch; beloved father-in-law, Bud Johns; sister-in-law, Tracee Smith and nephew, Patrick Johns.
Visitation will be at the Hafer Funeral Home from 2-4 p.m. on Sunday, August 12, with the service to follow with Minister Elizabeth Kerns officiating.
