MORGANTOWN — Women United will host its first Power of the Purse fundraiser to support the Dolly Parton Imagination Library. The event, set for 5:30-8:30 p.m. Aug. 23 at Morgantown Marriott at Waterfront Place, will bring together hundreds of area women and other individuals who want to build a stronger community through early childhood education.
The event will feature purse auctions, food, drinks, live entertainment and celebrity guest Morgantown native and WVU alumna Emily Calandrelli, host of Fox’s Xploration Outer Space. She is also a children’s author featuring, Ada Lace, a young girl who has a love of science, technology, math and mystery. Proceeds will benefit the Dolly Parton Imagination Library in our community.
Tickets and sponsorships are now available for this event by visiting unitedwaympc.org/potp. Those who can’t join the fundraiser may consider a donation of $25 or more to sponsor a child’s participation in the Imagination Library.
