MORGANTOWN — The Monongalia County Sheriff’s Department has released the names of the victims of the single-vehicle accident that occurred on Wednesday July 25 at the Interstate 68/79 interchange.
According to a release, the driver, Chester Allen Plants, 70 of Point Pleasant, was thrown from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene.
The passenger, Plants’ wife Karen Plants, only suffered minor injuries.
The vehicle was attempting to merge from Interstate 68 onto Interstate 79 Southbound when the driver lost control of the vehicle. It then hit the guardrail and rolled.
