DANIELS — David Bradshaw made a strong push Wednesday July 25 to capture his 10th West Virginia Open title.
The Harpers Ferry native fired an 8-under par 63, at the Resort at Glade Springs, and has a four-stroke lead over four others heading into today’s second round.
Morgantown’s Tyler Franklin fired a 1-under 70, including an eagle on the 501-yard, par-5 No. 12 hole to lead all local golfers. Franklin is in a tie for 10th.
Morgantown’s Josh Arbaugh is tied for 25th after shooting a 1-over 72.
Bradshaw is attempting to become just the second golfer to earn at least 10 W.Va. Open titles. Sammy Snead holds the record of 14.
In the group four shots back are Davey Jude of Kermit, Philip Reale of Hurricane, Chris Williams of Scott Depot and Mason Williams of Bridgeport.
Jude was the runner-up to Bradshaw last season.
