MORGANTOWN — The Monongalia County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a motorcycle accident that left one woman dead early Friday morning.
According to a release, deputies responded to an accident on in front of Hampton Center, on Stewartstown Road, at about 12:07 a.m.
The wreck involved a single motorcycle, police said. The driver, 24-year-old Jeremy Hoopengarner, of Morgantown, sustained minor injuries.
The passenger, whose name has not been released pending notification of her family, was transported to to the hospital by Mon EMS. She later died of her injuries.
Star City Volunteer Fire Department also responded to the call.
The accident remains under investigation.
