Wilma Virginia Wakefield, 88, of Kingwood and formerly of Friendsville, Md., died Wednesday, July 18, 2018, at Hopemont Hospital, in Terra Alta.
Born November 29, 1929, in Accident, Md., she was the daughter of the late William and Maude (Lee) Lohr.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Carl Junior Wakefield; seven brothers, George, Homer, Alvie, Keith, Alexander, Pete and Woodrow Wakefield; two sisters, Ethel Seibert and Freda VanScheetz.
Mrs. Wakefield was a homemaker and a member of the Sand Spring Church of God, WCSC of Sand Spring and WOW Camp 45.
She is survived by one son, Larry (Sandi) Wakefield, of Friendsville; two daughters, Virginia (Jim) Wood, of Wis. and Tracy (companion, Rob) Gregory, of Terra Alta; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Friends will be received at the Newman Funeral Homes, in Friendsville, from 2 – 4 p.m. and 7 – 9 p.m. on Friday, July 20. Funeral services will be conducted in the Sand Spring Church of God from 10 – 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 21, with the Rev. Dana Umbel officiating. Interment will be in the Blooming Rose Cemetery.
