Karen “Paulette” Haseleu, 72, of Morgantown, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 17, 2018, with family by her side.
She was born on July 28, 1945, in Anmoore, daughter of the late Howard and Mary Dalton Kennedy. She was the youngest of six children; sister, Wilma “Bashe” Wilburn and husband, Sid, and brothers, Cornelius “Peewee” Kennedy and wife, Mattie, Warren Lee Kennedy and wife, Lavern, Carl “Jim” Kennedy and wife, Janet, and Roger Kennedy and wife, Erma Jean.
Over the years, she held various jobs, but the one she loved most was as a caregiver. Her love of people was immense.
Paulette is survived by three daughters, Pamela Haseleu, of Morgantown, Kathleen “Kathy” Bradley and husband, Scott, of Christiansburg, Va., and Tracy Bonnette and husband, Kevin, of Morgantown; eight grandchildren, Natasha Thomas, Justin Thomas, Trushawn Thomas, Adrienne “A.J.” Eckenrode and husband, Jaison, Ashley Miller, Patrolman 1st Class Cody Shane of the Morgantown Police Department, James “Scotty” Phillips, and Preston Bonnette; and nine great-grandchildren, Rayauana Smith, Ramier Smith, Amare’ Thomas, Jaeden Thomas, Benson Eckenrode, Beau Eckenrode, Serenity Miller, Gabriella Trozi, and Greyson Trozi.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her former husband, James “Jim” Haseleu.
Friends and family will be received at Hastings Funeral Home from 4 – 8 p.m. on Friday, July 20 and from 10 – 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 21, with the funeral service to follow with Bishop Joe Ray Friend officiating. Interment will follow at Nicholson Cemetery.
