Luke A. Becilla, 33, of Morgantown, passed away on Sunday, July 8, 2018, at his residence.
Luke was born in Morgantown, on June 4, 1985, the son of Paul and Barbara (Wright) Becilla.
He graduated from Morgantown High School, attended Surry Community College and Fairmont State University. His hobbies included fishing, basketball, but most of all, baseball which he played at many levels from Little League to Collegiate.
Luke was an avid collector/finder of stray animals of all kinds that he would bring home to live happily ever after. One of Luke’s favorite artists was 2pac singing “Heaven Ain’t Hard to Find” which he has now found.
In addition to his parents, Luke was survived by sister, Amie J. Becilla, of Morgantown; brother, Andrew J. Becilla, of Morgantown; aunts and uncles, Kathy (Becilla) Jeffreys, of Warsaw, Ind., Ed and Sandy Becilla/Pell, of Peterstown, Mark and Carol Becilla, of Morgantown, John and Lavina Becilla, of Rocky Mount, N.C., Gary Wright, of Waynesburg, Pa., and Paul and Nola Wright, of Pennsylvania Furnace, Pa.; along with numerous cousins.
He was preceded in death by grandparents, Joseph and Martha Becilla, of Morgantown, and Wayne and Mary Wright, of Waynesburg, Pa., along with his dog, Dakota, of 15 years, and his two cats, Haven and Cheddar, aunts and uncles, Richard Jeffreys, of Warsaw, Ind., Jay Becilla, of Morgantown, and Karen Wright, of Waynesburg, Pa.
Family and friends will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, from 1 – 6 p.m. on Sunday, July 15, and at St. Mary Roman Catholic Church, 3334B University Avenue, from 10 – 11 a.m. on Monday, July 16, with the Mass of Christian Burial to follow with Father Gary Naegele as Celebrant.
