Kenneth “Buck” Simmons, 78, of Grafton, passed away Monday, July 9, 2018.
He was born April 25, 1940, in Shinnston, son of the late Orval Clyde Simmons and Nina Currey Simmons.
Buck was a veteran of the United States Navy. Buck worked at Westinghouse/Philips Lighting, Earl Hawkins Plumbing, and Stuart and McMunn Heating & Cooling. He enjoyed muzzle loading, hunting, fishing and participated in the 7th WV Infantry North/South Skirmish Association. He was Baptist by faith. He and his wife, Helen Simmons, would have been married 50 years on Sept. 28.
Buck is survived by his wife, Helen Simmons; children, Ramona Ann Warner, of Grafton, and Delbert Simmons and his wife, Nikki, of Jonesborough, Tenn.; two grandchildren, Stanton Walk-er Simmons and Dalton Cole Simmons; siblings, Raymond Simmons and his wife, Kay, of Shinnston, and Carolyn Jausi, of New York; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Buck was preceded in death by his sister, Janet Keith.
The family will receive friends at Domico Funeral Home, 414 Gaston Ave., in Fairmont, from 3-8 p.m. Wednesday. The funeral service will be held at the funeral home at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 12. Interment will follow at the West Virginia National Cemetery with full military rights.
