Jane Ann Monroe, 74, of Bruceton Mills, died Saturday, July 7, 2018, at J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital.
The daughter of the late Hugh W. and M. Maxine Falkenstine Darby, she was born Aug. 8, 1943, in Bruceton Mills.
Jane was a member of the Grace Baptist Church in Bruceton Mills, and served as secretary/treasurer of the Sugar Valley Cemetery Association. She enjoyed reading and puzzle books and most of all, she was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who enjoyed all her family.
She is survived by her husband, Jessie Monroe; two sons and their spouses, Tim and Crystal Monroe, of Bruceton Mills, and Randy and Teresa Monroe, of Arthurdale; a daughter, Deborah Monroe, of Gastonia, N.C.; five grandchildren, Josh, Seth, Mollie, Aaron and Jonathan; and two brothers and their spouses, Jim and Charlotte Darby, of Culpeper, Va., and Tom and Sue Darby, of Bruceton Mills.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Warren (Butch) Darby.
Family and friends may call at the Carl R. Spear Funeral Home, in Brandonville-Bruceton Mills, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, and from 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 11, until the 1 p.m. service with Pastor Barry Darnell officiating. Burial will follow at Sugar Valley Cemetery, in Bruceton Mills.
