Doris Louise Sickles, 81, of Aarons Creek Road, passed away at home on July 8, 2018, surrounded by her family.
Doris was born June 1, 1937, in Core, daughter to the late Lonnie and Frances Malott.
Doris’s life revolved around her family. She was a wonderful mother, sister, aunt, grandmother and great-grandmother. She devoted her life to raising children of her own as well as those of others while helping to maintain the family farm.
She is survived by her son, Robert and wife, Vivian; her son, James and wife, Judy; daughter, Linda Mueller and companion, Craig; daughter, Lisa Clemmer and companion, Rob; and daughter-in-law, Gloria Sickles. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren and their spouses and 20 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are her sisters, Lenora Bussey and Gloria Colebank; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of over 50 years, Warren H. “Buz” Sickles Jr.; an infant daughter; son, Larry Edward Sickles; and brothers Leroy and Robert Malott.
Family will receive friends at Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, and from 10 a.m. Thursday, July 12, until the 11 a.m. services Pastor Damon Nicholson officiating. Doris will be laid to rest beside her husband at Bethel Cemetery.
