Frank David “Buzz” Roberts, Jr., 79, of Terra Alta, died Wednesday July 4, 2018, at United Hospital Center, in Bridgeport.
The son of the late Frank D. Roberts, Sr. and Mary Ann Greathouse Roberts, he was born August 2, 1938, in Charleston.
Buzz was a member of Hillcrest Chapel Church. He was an auto mechanic at Street’s Garage in Masontown. He opened his own business, Hopemont Auto Repair, in Hopemont, and was still doing inspections and spreading Gods word until his recent illness. His main mission in life was to bring others to Christ for their salvation and make Heaven his home.
He is survived by his wife, Caroline Janet Bowser Roberts; two daughters, Barb Bailey, of Grafton and Pam (Tony) Perando, of Newport, Tenn.; five sons and spouses, Mike Roberts and Cheryl Wandel, of Terra Alta, Rex (Michelle) Roberts, of Wytheville, Va., Frank Roberts III and Dawn, of Terra Alta, Huey (Charity) Roberts, of Terra Alta and Stacy (Catherine) Roberts, of Oakland, Md.; a step-son and spouse, Maynard (Kathy) Armstrong, of Terra Alta; two step-daughters and spouses, Shirley (Stuart) Doll, of York, Pa. and Carolyn Sue (Richard) Smith, of Dallas; 17 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; 10 step grandchildren and many friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Bonnie R. Casteel Roberts; one brother, Richard A. Roberts; three sisters, Roberta Jean Christopher, Betty Jean Thomas and Louann Carlton; one son, Tracy Jo Roberts and one great-great-granddaughter, Presley Ann.
Family and friends will be received at the Arthur H. Wright Funeral Home, in Terra Alta, from 2 – 4 p.m. and 6 – 8 p.m., on Friday, July 6, and from 11 a.m.- noon, on Saturday, July 7, with the time of service to follow with Barry Kirk officiating. Burial will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery.
