Ernest “Ernie” A. Bryan 73, of Elyria, Ohio, passed away Monday, June 25, 2018, at Mercy New Life Hospice, in Lorain, following a long illness. He was born June 1, 1945, in Tunnelton.
Ernie was a retired pipe fitter and was a member of the Elyria Moose Lodge. He enjoyed woodworking, NASCAR racing and traveling by motor home.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Judith K. (nee: Overfield); two daughters, Vicki G. Smith (Rob), of Elyria and Tracy L. Canning (Perry), of North Ridgeville; four grandchildren, Keith, Adrian, Savanna and Petty Officer First Class Robert A. “Robbie” (Alyssa); two great-grandchildren, Taylor Faye and Lily Regan and brother, Ronald (Betty), of Rosine, Ky.
Ernie was preceded in death by his parents, John and Ardith (nee: Kisner) Bryan; a sister, Hallie Taylor and six brothers, Robert, John, George, James, Dallas and Robert Allen.
The family will receive friends at the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Services, in Elyria, from 4-7 p.m., on Friday, June 29 and at 1 p.m., on Saturday, June 30, for the funeral service wihth Pastor George Gribben officiating. Burial will be at Ridge Hill Memorial Park, in Amherst Twp.
