William Douglas Webster, Jr., 80, of Terra Alta, passed away Wednesday, June 13, 2018, at home with family.
The son of the late W.D. Webster, Sr. and Anna S. Webster, he was born December 22, 1937, in Elyria, Ohio.
Doug was the owner of Webster Insurance Center Inc. He learned the business from his father, who opened his office in Aurora in 1945. Doug received his insurance license in 1957 and maintained an office in Terra Alta from 1977 until his retirement in 2012.
He is survived by one son, Richard D. Webster, of Terra Alta.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Marcia Layne Webster in 1980.
Family and friends are invited to his celebration of life picnic style celebration with food and drinks provided. It will be held at his tractor shed, at 508 Brandonville Street, starting at 1 p.m., on June 30.
The Aurora VFD will be in attendance and there will a ceremony to retire his fire helmet at 2 p.m.
