MORGANTOWN — Colton Matthews pitched a two-hit shutout and Clay Maholic homered and drove in four runs June 20 as Morgantown Post 2 beat Clarkburg, 13-0, in American Legion baseball.
Matthews allowed one walk and struck out one batter.
He threw just 46 pitches, 32 of them for strikes, in five innings.
His teammates provided him with more than enough offense when they put up 11 runs in the second inning.
Devon Neal went 2-for-2 and knocked in three runs, and Cam Stoldt and Chandler Watts each had two RBIs, as Post 2 piled up 12 hits.
Post 2 in scheduled to travel to Cumberland, Md., today for a game at 6 p.m.
