Pine Ridge will host community carnival
KINGWOOD — Pine Ridge will host a community carnival from 5:30-8:15 p.m. today at their facility, 300 Miller Road, Kingwood, to benefit the Alzheimer’s Association.
The evening will feature food, games, a dunk tank, horse and buggy rides, face painting, 50/50, raffle baskets and appearances by Paw Patrol, Poppy Troll and other children’s characters. The evening will conclude with a balloon release in honor of those lost to Alzheimer’s disease.

UMWA to have election meeting on Sunday
UMWA Local 1058 will have its meeting and election of international officers at 1 p.m. Sunday at Hotel “M,” in Star City.
Wireless Association to host Field Day
The Monongalia Wireless Association will be a host of Field Day 2018 at the transmitter site on Chestnut Ridge Road from 2 p.m. Saturday through mid afternoon Sunday.
Attendees can operate the radios and see how emergency communications work as well as learning how to become an amateur radio operator.
Health Dept. hosts diabetic support group
KINGWOOD — The Preston County Health Department will hold a diabetic support group from 6:30-8 p.m. Wednesday, June 27, at the Extension Office on Court Street.
Meredith Sneddon, certified diabetic educator, will present “Foot Care and Complications of Legs and Feet with Diabetes.” The public is welcome and there is no charge to attend.
