Ruby Frances Phillips, 82, of Newburg, passed away Saturday, June 16, 2018 at Mon Health Medical Center.
She was born in Tunnelton on April 24, 1936, daughter of the late Foster and Helen Virginia Plum Sines.
Ruby graduated from Newburg High School, Class of 1955. She worked at Sterling Faucet, in Reedsville, and Kinney Shoe Factory, in Kingwood. Ruby loved cooking, baking and playing with her grandchildren. Ruby was a member of the Kingwood Pentecostal Church.
She is survived by two sons, Danny Ray Phillips and David Glen Phillips, both of Newburg; one daughter, Vickie Lee Phillips Thomas and husband, Marvin, of Newburg; four grandchildren, Marcus Thomas, Stacy Thomas Mancuso and husband, Jesse, Natoshia Phillips and Nathan Thomas; one great-grandson, Eli Johnson; two sisters-in-law, Sandy Sines, of Morgantown, and Phyllis Sines, of Tunnelton; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Ruby was preceded in death by her husband, Harold “Buck” Ray Phillips in 2001; one daughter-in-law, Roberta Marshall Phillips in 2000; two great-grandsons, Xander and Xavier Mancuso; two brothers, Jimmie Sines and Bobby Sines; and two sisters, Bonnie Owens and Audrey Lee Hall.
Family and friends will be received at the Bolyard Funeral Home, 79 Morgantown St., Newburg, from
2-8 p.m. Tuesday, and from 9 a.m. Wednesday, June 20, until the 11 a.m. service with Pastor Glenn Riggleman officiating. Burial will follow at Mount Israel Cemetery, in Marquess.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Ruby’s memory to Mount Israel Fellowship Hall, 744 Stone Hollow Road, Tunnelton, WV 26444.
