Kervens Brun, 32, of Morgantown, lost his valiant battle with cancer at UPMC, on Thursday, May 31, 2018. Kervens was born February 12, 1986, in Orange, N.J., the son of Pierre Wilkens Brun and Marie Duvanie (Estime) Brun of Spring Valley, N.Y.
Kervens obtained both Bachelors and Masters degrees from West Virginia University. His Masters degree concentrated in Healthcare Public Administration. He has been employed as an executive healthcare administrator at Monongahela Valley Association, (Fairmont), the Peter M. Winter Institute for Simulation, Education, and Research, (WISER) at UPMC (Pittsburgh) and most recently at UPMC Passavant (Pittsburgh).
Kervens was a devoted parishioner at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Star City. Additionally, he was an active member with the Westover Rotary Club where he served as President and recently became a Paul Harris Fellow. Kervens enjoyed composing his own music on the piano, rooting for the Mountaineers, dominating at fantasy football, playing golf and finding ways to better himself, but his greatest pleasure was in being a loving husband, father, son, and friend.
In addition to his parents, Kervens is survived by his wife, Heather Long Brun; his five month old daughter, Isla Noelle and his sister, Trisha Junie Brun, of Spring Valley, N.Y.
Visitation for family and friends will be held at the McCulla Funeral Homefrom 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m., on Wednesday, June 6, with a Vigil service being held at 7:30 pm Wednesday to conclude the visitation. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, at 10 a.m., on Thursday, June 7, with Father John DiBacco Jr. as celebrant. An additional memorial service and burial will be held in his hometown of Spring Valley, N.Y. for his large international family.
In lieu of flowers, one of Kervens best friends has set up a GoFundMe donation page (Support of the Kervens Brun Family) or send a contribution to the Westover Rotary (Kervens Brun Fund).
