MedExpress holds ceremonial groundbreaking

W. Va. — MedExpress held a ceremonial groundbreaking this week to begin construction of the new MedExpress administrative offices building in the Cheat Lake area.
An estimated 50 to 100 people, including MedExpress employees and members of the public, attended.

Officials donned hard hats and grabbed shovels to turn over some dirt in the empty field.

Founded in Morgantown in 2001. the Morgantown Administrative Offices is home to employees who carry out important functions on behalf of more than 250 neighborhood medical centers — human resources, IT, marketing, finance, operations and others.

The new two-story, 25,000-square-foot office will be built from the ground up and will complement the recent renovation to the MedExpress Administrative Offices in the Southpointe complex in Canonsburg, Pa. The building will comfortably accommodate about 100 MedExpress employees. The building will feature environmentally friendly design elements, including LED lighting, recyclable materials, mechanical systems and lighting controls. It is expected to be completed in spring 2019.

Dr. Frank Alderman, CEO, Jonathan Walker, president and CFO, and Julie Penn, chief marketing and strategy officer talked about the company.

The new office will be at the Cheat Lake Exit off of I-68 and Route 43.
