Richard Devault

Richard E. “Dick” DeVault, age 76, of Celina, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, May 28, 2018, at the Joint Township District Memorial Hospital in St. Marys.  He was born in Morgantown  to Jack E. DeVault and Wanda (McCartney) Harold, on Sept. 23, 1941.
On March 18, 1961, he married Jean Martin, who lives in Celina.  Also surviving, is his daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Kenneth Wendel, of Celina; a grandson, Cody Wendel, of Celina; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Jackie and Ray Falkner, of Ellicott City, Md., Jan and Rich Tylka, of Angier, N.C. and two sisters-in-law, Naomi and Sonny Wilson, of Morgantown and Teresa and Dan Kagey, of Greenville.
Dick was preceded in death by his father and his step-father, William Harold.
He graduated from Morgantown High School; then he served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict in South Korea.   He owned and operated the former Empire Restaurant in Greenville and for the last 15 years was a truck driver for Klingshirn & Son’s Trucking.  He was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Celina.
Dick was a devoted husband and father, who loved and cherished his grandson.
Private family services will be held at a later date.   He will be buried in the St. Marys Catholic Cemetery in Celina.  The Lehman-Dzendzel Funeral Home is handling arrangements for the DeVault family.
