MORGANTOWN — Memorial Day weekend marks the unofficial start of summer, and area pools are ready to meet the demand for beating the heat.
Marilla Pool is open today and Monday, and there will also be a special pre-opening evening swim from 4-8 p.m. Friday. Both Marilla and Krepps pools officially open for the summer season on Saturday.
Marilla and Krepps pools are open from noon-6 p.m. daily, with late swims on select Fridays until 8 p.m. Admission is $6 for adults, $5 for children ages 4-17 and free for children 3 and under with a paying adult. A slide pass at Marilla costs $3, and you must be 45 inches tall to use the slides.
Season and family passes are also available for both pools. See boparc.org for more information about both pools and passes.
Marilla, located on East Brockway Avenue in the Sabraton area, features a large, outdoor pool with a zero-grade entry, concession stand, beach area and locker rooms. It also has two water slides.
Krepps, located on Parkview Drive in the Suncrest area, offers a pool, concession stand, beach area and locker rooms.
Both pools are available for private rentals in the evenings from 6:30-8:30 p.m.
