MORGANTOWN — Two Detroit men have been arrested and charged after a Thursday raid found several types of drugs and other items in an area apartment.
Hamani Hanible, 19, and Adonnis Shepheard, 24, are each charged with four counts of possession with intent.
Each count carries a possible sentence of one to 15 years in prison and/or up to a $25,000 fine.
The men were arrested after Morgantown police found 6.6 grams of heroin, 4.4 grams of crack cocaine, 1.3 grams of cocaine, 14 Oxycodone pills, 10 Oxymorphone Hydrochloride pills during the execution of a search warrant on a Charles Avenue apartment. Scales, packing materials and several cell phones were also found in the apartment as was $2,308, Chief Ed Preston said.
According to criminal complaints, prior to the search warrant detectives found heroin bought by a man, later identified as Shepheard, who was coming from the address where the warrant was executed. A MPD detective witnessed the transaction first-hand.
An information source said the purchases were made from a heavy-set black male named “JJ,” who was later identified as Hanible. He was called JJ multiple times by other parties at the apartment, a complaint stated.
