Quilt registration
Owners of cherished quilts made before 1970 can document their quilts for future generations at the Arthurdale New Deal Festival on July 14. The documentation project is sponsored by West Virginia Quilters, Inc., in collaboration with the West Virginia Division of Culture and History.
Volunteers will examine the quilts and record facts about them and the quilters who made them, as well as photographing them. The information will be placed in the archives of the Division of Culture and History and a national online database, quiltindex.org.
Documentation is free, but appointments should be made for between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. There is a limit of two items per person. To make an appointment contact Kathy Opel at Kopel@yahoo.com or 304-329-1287.
More info about the project can be found at www.wvquilters.org.
