William Edgar Davis, 90, of Rivesville, passed away on Wednesday, May 16, 2018, surrounded by his family, at the home of his daughter, Lora Smith, in Westover. William was born March 13, 1928, in Mount Morris, a son of the late Murrlen and Mamie Davis.
William also known as “Slew” was a retired coal miner and a Korean veteran of the United States army. His favorite hobby was flying remote controlled airplanes
William is survived by his children, Bill Davis and wife Elizabeth, of Peoria, Ariz., Larry Davis and wife Brenda, of Massey Hollow and Lora Smith and husband Leonard, of Westover; six grandchildren, Vanessa Davis, Nick Davis, Monica Gaskill, Leslie Michael, Dustin Smith and Sierra Smith; six great-grand children, Alexis Davis, Hailey Davis, Madison Hall, Caleb Michael, Toby Michael and Autumn Gaskill.
William was preceded in death by his wife, Kathern Marie Davis; his sisters, Jean Frymyer and Arbutus Miller; and his brothers, Robert Davis, Kenneth Davis, Leroy Davis and Howard Davis.

Friends are invited to gather at McCulla Funeral Home, from 3-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m., on Friday, May 18, and from 10-11 a.m., on Saturday, May 19, with the funeral service to follow with Pastor Mary Ann Harmon officiating. Interment will follow at Arnettsville Cemetery.
