KINGWOOD — Preston County Commissioners will meet at 9 a.m. Thursday to certify the results of the May primary.
Commissioners concluded their canvass of the votes Monday afternoon and declared the results. Twenty-nine of the 35 provisional ballots were counted, and there were no changes in the winners, County Clerk Linda Huggins said.
Candidates have 48 hours after the declaration, which is tomorrow afternoon, to request a recount. If a recount is requested, the candidate must specify whether an electronic or a manual recount is desired and deposit $300 with the county commission.
