George Willard

George W. “Sonny” Willard, 82, of Cassville, was reunited with his wife, family,  and friends that had gone on before him, on Monday, May 14, 2018.
He was born June 9, 1935, at Days Run, a son of the late Joe Carl Willard and Ola Marie Varner Willard.
Sonny was retired from Sterling Faucet in Morgantown.  He enjoyed woodworking, building, and music.  He played numerous instruments and built lap dulcimers and he played old fashioned music for square dances, fairs and festivals throughout the state.  He played in several bands throughout his life time.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Anna Mae Foley Willard and  two sisters.
Surviving are one son and his wife, Michael “Whistler” Willard and his wife Tina Hare Willard; one daughter, Debora Willard Stewart; three grandchildren, Nick, Justin, and Shannon; eight great-grandchildren; three brothers and their spouses, Joe C. “June” Willard Jr. and his wife Jackie, Marvin E. “Gene” Willard, and David Willard and his wife Brenda, and one sister Sue.
The family would like to give a special thanks to those who helped take care of Sonny, Justin Martin, Dave and Brenda Willard.
There will be no visitation.  Private graveside services will be held at the family’s convenience with burial in Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens in Westover.
The Owen-Neely Funeral Home, in Blacksville, is in charge of arrangements.
