MORGANTOWN — The University girls’ lacrosse team open its postseason with a 9-3 win over Buckhannon-Upshur in the West Virginia Scholastic Lacrosse Association quarterfinal  May 11, at Mylan Pharmeceuticals Stadium.
The Hawks had goals from Jordyn Snider (3), Sophie Armstrong (2), Olivia Wills, Morgan Crocco, Ava Foreman and Mallory Napollio.
Mackenzie Slavensky (2), Napolillo and
Logan White all had assists. Goalie Riley Phares had seven saves
UHS will face Morgantown on the road at 11 a.m. May 12 in the semifinal.

BLACKSVILLE — Madison Statler hit a bases loaded triple to score three runs in the seventh inning for the Cee-Bees in a walk off  6-5 win.

Caitlyn Kassay pitched all seven innings, limiting Bridgeport to five hits and overcoming three C-B errors to earn her 14th victory on the season.
C-B will begin regional play at 5 p.m. Monday, at Moorefield.
