MORGANTOWN — Looks like warm weather might be here to stay.
“It’s not gonna be terrible,” AccuWeather meteorologist Evan Duffey said Wednesday May 9.
He did say Wednesday’s dry 80s would be tough to repeat the rest of the week.
Today will be a bit cloudier, and there will be a shower or two, but the temperatures will stay in the mid-70s with some sunshine between the clouds. Not a terrible day overall, he said, but watch out for afternoon thunderstorms.
Friday will be warm, in the upper 70s, and will be dry with a mix of clouds and sun.
Saturday looks pretty dry, and Duffey said a front making its way from the north will keep things warm. It could be in the upper 80s and getting into the 90s in some places.
“Take what you can get there,” he said.
Unfortunately, Mother’s Day is looking a bit cloudier and also cooler, but still warmer than normal. Duffey said the area will see some showers and thunderstorm activity all day. The high should be in the upper 70s.
“May be a good day to stay inside in the morning, have some breakfast in bed for mom, maybe. Take her to the movies, something along those lines,” he said.
Duffey said the area should be out of the threat of really cool weather now.
