MORGANTOWN — The WVU baseball team returns home to host Virginia Tech, at 6:30 p.m. May 9, at Monongalia County Ballpark, in a contest that will be televised regionally on AT&T SportsNet (Comcast channels 37, 843).
Foam fingers will be given out to the first 1,000 fans, and all fans can play Baseball Bingo.

The Mountaineers (24-21) and Hokies (20-26) meet for the 89th time and fifth consecutive season. WVU has won two in a row and eight of the last 12 games between the former Southern Conference and Big East rivals.
WVU junior Kyle Gray owns a career-long and team-best 22-game hit streak, the longest by a Mountaineer since 2009. He has 13 home runs, tied for seventh-most in a season in program history. Gray hit four home runs last week and was named the Big 12 Player of the Week.
WVU leads the Big 12 and ranks No. 22 nationally with 78 stolen bases, and is No. 2 in the league and No. 14 in the country with 45 double plays turned.
Marques Inman ranks No. 10 nationally with 0.44 doubles per game, while Gray is No. 11 with a .709 slugging percentage. Braden Zarbnisky’s 0.97 walks per game ranks No. 12 in the country.
RIFLE
Four Mountaineers will represent their countries at the International Shooting Sport Federation Fort Benning (Ga.) World Cup for Rifle/Pistol this week.
Senior Elizabeth Gratz and junior Ginny Thrasher will compete for the United Sates, while sophomore Milica Babic will compete for Serbia and redshirt-freshman David Koenders will shoot for Germany.
Competition begins today, with the women’s 10-meter air rifle; Gratz, Thrasher and Babic all will compete.
Koenders will shoot in the men’s 50-meter rifle 3 positions on Thursday and the men’s 10-meter air rifle on Friday.
