Richard Scott “Buck” Delauder, 83, of Wilkesboro, N.C., passed away Saturday, April 28, 2018, at the home of his daughter and son-in-law, in Wilkesboro.
He was born Jan. 25, 1935, in Barber County, to Darl C. and Eunice Butcher Delauder.
Mr. Delauder was a member of FFA. He was a basketball player, and was very knowledgeable about cars and engines. Buck was a man of few words, but enjoyed making people laugh. He was a very content man who needed only simple pleasures.
Mr. Delauder was preceded in death by his parents; Arlene Lucille Delauder who he was married to and had two children; his brother, Doyle J. “Bud” Delauder; sister-in-law, Wilma Delauder; and brother-in-law, Charles Sell.
Surviving are his daughters, Sherri Brooks and husband, Tony, of Wilkesboro, and Adrena Losh and husband, Greg, of Roswell, Ga.; grandchildren, Chelsea Losh-Jones and husband, Bobby, Alex Losh, Samuel Losh, Richard Losh and Justin Brooks and wife, Katie; great-grandchild, Robert Bruce (Tripp) Losh-Jones; and sister, Beverly Sell, of Westover.
A graveside service will be held at Heavner Cemetery, in Buckhannon, at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 1, with Jerry Lockett officiating.
