Maxie Nadine (Wiles) Martin, 89, of Hagerstown, Md., passed from this life on Friday, April 27, 2018, at her residence surrounded by her family.
Born on May 2, 1928, in Tunnelton, she was the daughter of the late Paris D. and Florence P. (McGinnis) Wiles.
She was the wife of the late Everett Dean Martin of 61 years.
Maxie spent her entire life as a homemaker and stay at home mom. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who nurtured, loved and cared for her entire family.
She is survived by daughter, Cheryl M. Farmer and husband, Frank D. Farmer; son, Everett R. Martin; daughter, Donna D. Clark and husband, Thomas J. Clark; sister, Lila M. Flesher; sister, Shirley A. Shahan; brother, Arnold Wiles; brother, Elbern D. Wiles; granddaughter, Robin Christine Unzicker; granddaughter, Christy C. Newman; granddaughter, Courtney B. Henry; great-grandson, Tyler Anthony Thomason; great-grandson, Cody Thomas James Newman; great-granddaughter, Kaylee Elizabeth Newman; great-granddaughter, Chloe Danielle Newman, great-granddaughter, Kamryn LeAnn Newman; great-grandson, Austin Dean Ball; great-granddaughter, Abigail Alyssa Henry; and great-grandson, Bryce Logan Henry
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Sharon P. Martin; granddaughter, Sharon C. Funk-houser; and grandson, W. Scott (Scotty) Funkhouser.
A luncheon and receiving of friends will be held at Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pik, in Boonsboro, Md., from 11:30 a.m. Saturday, May 5, until the 1 p.m. celebration of Maxie’s life journey with the Rev. Robert C. Jones officiating. Interment will be held at Fairview Cemetery, in Keedysville, Md.
