Dorothy B. Snider McCormick, 89, of the Brookhaven community, passed away Friday morning, April 27, 2018, at the home of her daughter, Tammy.
The daughter of the late Leo Joy Snider and Nellie Mae Snider Davis; she was born, Dec. 27, 1928, in Morgantown.
Dorothy was a member of The Word of Life Tabernacle.
Dorothy is survived by three children, Gerald McCormick and his wife, Shirley, of Morgantown, Bonnie Johnson, of Warren, Ohio, and Tammy Phillips, of Morgantown; a daughter-in-law, Velma McCormick, of Morgantown; two siblings, Leo Joy Snider Jr., of Morgantown, and Judy Matthews, of Springfield, Va.; 13 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; 15 great great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Dewey Albert McCormick; a son, David William McCormick; infant son, Robert Leroy McCormick; brothers, Virgil Snider, Donald Snider and Victor Snider; one grandchild, four great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild.
Family and friends will be received at Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday, and from noon Tuesday, May 1, until the 1 p.m. funeral service with Pastor Elmer Nicholson officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Union Cemetery, in Morgantown.
