Public Library to host inaugural sewing class
Marion County Public Library will host their inaugural sewing class at 11 a.m. Saturday. This class is full.
Their next session will take place at 11 a.m. Monday, May 14, making reusable tote bags. This is suitable for anyone age 10 and up, and the class is limited to 12 people.

Historical association to hold memorial service
The Everettville Historical Association will host the annual Federal No. 3 Miners Memorial Service at 2 p.m. Sunday, at the monument next to the Friendship Baptist Church, 76 Pickhandle Hill Road, Morgantown. The ceremonies are open to the public.
All interested parties are invited to attend to recognize the contributions and sacrifices of fallen miners and veterans.
Mountain Line switches over to summer hours
Mountain Line Transit Authority reverts to summer hours beginning Thursday.
The changes are as follows:
- Campus PM (Route 1): Will not run through the summer.
- West Run Express (Route 30): Beginning May 7, the schedule will change to Monday-Friday, 7:10 a.m.-5:10 p.m. No evening or Saturday service.
- West Run Late Night (Route 30 from 9 p.m.-3 a.m.): Will not run through the summer.
- Blue & Gold (Route 38): Beginning May 7, daily service will stop at 6:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday service will continue as usual throughout the summer.
- Beechurst Express (Route 39): Will not run through the summer.
- Grey Line service between Clarksburg and Pittsburgh travels twice daily 365 days a year.

Assistance available for Black Lung Benefits
The Division of Coal Mine Workers’ Compensation Program will offer assistance to claimants interested in filing for benefits under the Black Lung Benefits Act from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Wednesday, May 2, 2018, at the Mine Safety and Health Administration.

Board of realtors to hold fun day, donate proceeds
Committee of the Morgantown Board of Realtors will be host a Fiesta Fun Day Thursday, May 3.
Proceeds will benefit the Weekend Back-Pack Program for Scotts Run Settlement House and The Pantry Plus More Program. These programs help feed over 1,200 students in the community of Morgantown and its surrounding areas.

DOH: Roads to be closed May 2-4; only local traffic
The West Virginia Division of Highways would like to advise motorists of a road closure on County Route 37, Hagans Road, at MP 5.75.
This closure will occur from 7 a.m.-4 p.m. from Wednesday, May 2, through Friday, May 4. Alternate routes will be 37/3 and 37/5. Only local traffic will be allowed.
Rivesville PTO raising funds for playground
Rivesville School PTO will host a playground fundraiser from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday, May 5, at Rivesville School.
There is a $3 entry per person. Some of the attractions include live music, over 40 vendors and crafters, inflatables and several food trucks. The funds raised will be used to upgrade the schools playground.
