Cody Lee Johnson, 26, of Savannah, Ga., formerly of Morgantown, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday morning, April 18, 2018, in Savannah.
He was born May 1, 1991, in Morgantown, a son of Dick and Kathie Johnson, of Morgantown.
In addition to his parents, survivors include his wife, Jamie Lynn Fortwengler Johnson; his son, Tanner Matthew Johnson; two sisters, Stephanie Johnson Lemley and her husband, John, of Morgantown, and Samantha Johnson, of Savannah; his niece and nephew, Katie and Ryan Lemley, of Morgantown; and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Howard and Jennifer Wesley, of Brave, Pa.
He was preceded in death by a niece, Kassidy Lea Johnson.
Cody attended Morgantown High School, where he played hockey, and later attended West Virginia University. He was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church. Cody was employed as an operations manager with Snider Fleet Solutions in Pooler, Ga. He also enjoyed shark fishing.
Friends may join the family to honor Cody’s life and legacy at Smith Funeral & Cremation Care, in Morgantown, from 4 p.m. Monday, April 23, until the 7 p.m. funeral service with Pastor Randall Flanagan officiating. Following the service, the family’s request for cremation will be honored.
