Edna Mary Gutta Palumbo, 92, of Morgantown, died Friday, April 20, 2018, at home surrounded by her loving family, following a long happy life and a brief illness. She was born March 13, 1926, a daughter of the late Frank and Maria Angela Romeo Gutta.
Edna was a loving, devoted wife for 57 years to the late Patsy Palumbo. She loved cooking for family and friends and cherished spending time with her grandchildren as they were growing up.
She leaves behind two sons, Larry Palumbo and his wife Jayne, of Clarksburg, Mark Palumbo and his wife Kim, of Morgantown; three grandchildren whom she adored: Kristina and spouse Cullen Hencke, of Morgantown, Brittany and spouse Matt Dulin, of Morgantown, Patrick Palumbo and spouse Rebecca, of Kill Devil Hills, N.C.; four great grandchildren; one brother, Carmen Gutta and his wife Marie, of Morgantown; Sister-in-law Patricia Gutta and Sister- in-law Elizabeth Gutta, both of Morgantown and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Patsy Palumbo; three brothers, John B. Gutta Sr., Paul J. Gutta, Frank A. Gutta Jr., and three sisters, Rose Gutta, Elena “Helen” Gutta Belldina and Rena Gutta Zaccagnini.
Friends and family are invited to gather for visitation at McCulla Funeral Home from 2-7 p.m., on Sunday, April 22. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. John University Parish at 11 a.m., on Monday, April 23, with Father Justin Blanc as celebrant. Interment will follow at Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens.
