KINGWOOD — A Morgantown man has been charged with strangulation of a woman in Preston County.
Gilbert Bruce Bueno, 33, was in the Tygart Valley Regional Jail Thursday in lieu of $500,000 bond.
According to the criminal complaint by Preston Sheriff’s Sgt. G.A. Sinclair:
The woman said Bueno had been drinking and became violent while they camped in the Cheat Canyon April 14. He punched, choked and strangled her, and took away her cell phone, car keys and purse, so that she could not leave.
She escaped when he went to sleep and went to a hospital. Her injuries included a nasal bone fracture, bruises and injuries to her throat.
