Baseball

Linsly 1
Behind the power bats of Caleb Taylor and Gavin Cottle, the Mohigans (10-5) 10-run ruled Linsly, at Mylan Park.
Taylor and Cottle each hit two home runs, backing pitcher Ethan Stewart, who went all six innings, giving up one run and striking out seven. Taylor had five RBIs, while Cottle had four.
Playing on the turf field at Mylan Park because of poor playing conditions on the grass field, the ball seems to fly over the fence more often because of the dimensions.
“They weren’t able to get the field ready, which I don’t understand,” head coach Mark McCarty said. “We haven’t been able to practice on it all season, and we’ve only played on it twice. UHS has played on it zero times. But yeah, the ball can get out quick on that turf field.”
MHS will play in the OVAC tournament April 20 with the opponent yet to be determined.
