Buckwheat Fest Royalty Pageant set for Saturday
KINGWOOD — The annual Buckwheat Festival Royalty Pageant will be held at 6 p.m. Saturday, at the Craig Civic Center. Admission is $5 per person at the door.
Preston County Workshop greenhouse set to open
REEDSVILLE — The Preston County Workshop greenhouse will be open from 8 a.m.-7 p.m. Saturday, at 650 Jenmar Drive, in Reedsville.
There will be refreshments and a hanging basket giveaway. The greenhouse regular hours will be from 8 a.m.-7 p.m. Monday-Saturday, and on Mother’s Day weekend from 8 a.m.-7 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

Many new items were added, including shrubs, bushes, trees, evergreens, junipers, herbs and perennials. This is in addition to hanging baskets, welcome baskets, square planters, colored bowls, pansies, black-eyed Susans, flowering and vegetable flats, garden décor and many other items.

North Preston Health Fair coming to Bruceton Mills
BRUCETON MILLS — The Bruceton United Methodist Church and West Virginia Caring will host the 13th North Preston Health Fair on Saturday, at the Bruceton Mills United Methodist Church, in Bruceton Mills.

West Virginia Caring will offer a variety of screenings through a blood draw for a low fee: CA 125 ($16) and vitamin D ($26) along with multiphasic panel ($33), thyroid panel with TSH ($20), Hemoglobin A1c ($13) and PSA ($23) testing. There will be free screenings, presentations and health care vendors to supply you with necessary maintaining your health.

Screenings and blood draws will begin at 7 a.m. and run until 11 a.m. Walk-ins are welcome; however, appointments are recommended at 304-864-0884.
