BLACKSVILLE — Caitlyn Kassay and Abbey Ammons held South Harrison hitless for a combined eight innings April 13 as the Clay-Battelle softball team won a doubleheader, 10-0 and 8-0.
Ammons hurled three innings, allowing no hits or walks and striking out eight in the 10-0, mercy rule shortened game.
She also went 2-for-2 and drove in a run. Kassay went 2-for-2 with two RBIs, Alicia Keener was
2-for-2 with two triples and three RBIs, and Hannah Hall hit a home run.
It took the Cee-Bees (13-1) five innings to win the second game. Kassay struck out 12 and didn’t walk a batter, plus she was 3-for-3 with two RBIs. Ammons went
3-for-4 with two RBIs, Madison Statler had three hits, and Rylee Burnette and Joleigh Sollars had two hits apiece.
Clay-Battelle plays host to Morgantown on Monday.
