Ronald Albert Walker Jr., 59, of Indian Trail, N.C., passed away Saturday, April 7, 2018 at his home.
Ron, known as “Sonny” to family, was born June 13, 1958 in Morgantown to Ronald Albert Walker and Martha Ruth Bernoski.
He was a graduate of MHS and served proudly in the U.S. Marine Corps for four years. Ron was an avid hobbyist who loved building and racing automobiles, and crafting model cars, planes, and trains. He both played and coached football and was an excellent illustrator. But above all, he was a proud and loving husband, father and grandfather.
Survivors include; wife, Wilma Lea Walker of Indian Trail; father, Ronald Albert Walker and Arlene, of Uniontown, PA; mother, Martha Ruth Bernoski and Walter of Morgantown; son, Michael Walker of New Martinsville; step-son, Daniel and Stacy Roberts of Kingwood; step-son, Rob and Cassie Stealey of Charlotte, N.C.; step-son, Bryan and Susan Stealey of Morgantown; step-son, Clint and Robin Stealey of Powell, Ohio; sister, Kathy and Bob Bowsher of Morgantown; half-brother, Kevin Bernoski of Morgantown; half-brother, Stacy Bernoski of Morgantown; half-sister, Rhonda Phillips of Hambleton; grandchildren Gavin, Shaytra and Alex Walker; and numerous beloved step-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at McCulla Funeral Home from 5-8 p.m. on Sunday, April 15, and from 10-11 a.m. on Monday, followed by funeral service with Rev. Dr. Ken Ramsey officiating. Burial will follow at the WV National Cemetery in Pruntytown, WV with full military honors conferred by the Taylor County Honor Guard and the U.S. Marine Corps.
