Wanda Mae (Benson) Gallatin, 65, of Kingwood, passed away on Tuesday, April 10, 2018, at Pine Ridge in Kingwood.
Wanda was born July 2, 1952, in Morgantown, a daughter of Evelyn (Shrout) Benson, of Kingwood, and the late William Benson.
She was a graduate of Kingwood High School. She waitressed at Marrara’s Pizza Keg, cooked at the Preston County Jail and the Preston County Country Club and worked as a housekeeper for the Heldreth. Wanda also enjoyed watching game shows.
She is survived by her husband of 44 years, William “Willie” Ernest Gallatin; son and companion, Jonathan “Mike” Gallatin and Judy, of King-wood; brother and spouse, William and Suzanne Benson, of Bruceton Mills; sister and spouse, Lois and Robert Lightner, of Reeds-ville; granddaughter, Shalynn Elizabeth Gallatin; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Lou and Richard Graham; two sisters-in-law, Bonnie Sheets Bolyard, of Kingwood, and Rose Ann Hartsell, of Masontown; special niece and caregiver, Shelly Maxwell, of Kingwood; her special furry friend, Lady Bug; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her father-in-law, William C. Gallatin.
Friends will be received at the Rotruck-Lobb Kingwood Chapel, 295 S. Price St., in Kingwood, from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, and from 11 a.m. on Friday, April 13, until the time of the funeral service in the funeral home chapel at 1 p.m. with Pastor Sonny McNear officiating. Cremation services will be under the direction of Rotruck-Lobb Crematory following the service.
