MORGANTOWN — A federal grand jury indicted a Morgantown man on drug and firearm charges this week.
Isaiah Davis, 28, is charged with two counts possession with intent to distribute heroin, two counts possession with intent to distribute cocaine hydrochloride, unlawful possession of a firearm, and use of a firearm during and in relation to a drug offense, according to a press release by United States Attorney Bill Powell, Northern District of West Virginia.
Davis, a felon, is accused of possession and distributing the two types of drugs in Monongalia County in October 2017, the press release stated. He is also accused of having a 9mm pistol and .40 pistol during drug offenses in October 2017 and January 2018.
Each drug count carries a maximum penalty of 20 years incarceration and a fine of up to $1,000,000. For unlawful possession of a firearm Davis could see up to 10 years incarceration and a fine of up to $250,000. Use of a firearm during a drug offense carries up to five years incarceration and a fine of up to $250,000.
The case will be prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Zelda E. Wesley. The case was investigated by Morgantown Police Department and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives, the release states.
