MORGANTOWN — During Easter weekend, people of all ages have been getting excited for Easter egg hunts in the Morgantown area.
This year, Mon Health EMS tried something new, holding the very first Easter egg hunt March 31 at its facility.
Executive Director David Custer said having the egg hunt was an opportunity to get into the community, but he credited all the legwork to Cynthia Weaver, administrative assistant at Mon Health EMS.
Before the hunt began, Weaver said kids could have the opportunity to see the inside of an ambulance and take some pictures with the Easter bunny. There were also balloon animals and face painting.
Weaver said there were around 3,000 eggs available for the kids, as well as six golden eggs that would merit prizes. She was pleased with the turnout for their first year holding the hunt. There were around 60 kids looking for eggs, and around 150 people total.
Just a hop across the street, the residents at Sundale Nursing Home were getting ready for their own Easter egg hunt. Activities assistant Diane Kisinger said there were about 14 dozen eggs hidden around the facility. She said normally they would hold the hunt outside, but it was far too chilly March 31.
Mr. and Mrs. Easter Bunny were also in attendance. They took the time to come and visit the residents Saturday afternoon.
