MORGANTOWN — Adalyn Johnson thought she was going on an Easter egg hunt March 25.
Her dad, Grant Johnson, knew he was harvesting much more than that, as he smiled down at his 2-year-old daughter.
“This is why you have kids,” he said.
The occasion was the annual indoor Easter egg hunt at the Morgantown Public Library.
Adalyn and her fellow toddlers lined up on either side of a big pile of confetti, which had (barely) concealed eggs underneath.
When it started, it didn’t take long. Adalyn gathered her eggs, and then grinned up at her dad.
“Good job, sweetie,” he said. “Let’s see what you got.”
What he got was better, he said to a guy with a notebook.
“You don’t want to miss stuff like this,” he said. “You don’t get to take back time.”
