MORGANTOWN — Between 6 a.m. and 10 a.m. Wednesday, a dozen wrecks were reported to MECCA 911, and another 10 calls came in for motorist assistance, according to Jimmy Smith, director of the county’s office of emergency management.
According to Accuweather Senior Meteorologist David Samuhel, the slick, snow-covered roads that complicated commutes Wednesday shouldn’t be a concern the rest of the week.
“We’re mostly done with it now,” Samuhel said of the storm that dropped about an inch of snow on Morgantown overnight Tuesday into Wednesday. “We should continue to see mostly dry conditions.”
As for today and Friday, Samuhel said temperatures should be right around 40 degrees with plenty of sunshine.
Looking at the weekend, Samuhel said Saturday looks to be mostly sunny and dry, but there is some potential for precipitation late in the day Saturday and into Sunday.
