MORGANTOWN — For all those hoping to spring forward to warmer weather, Accuweather Meteorologist Brian Edwards has a bit of bad news.
Winter isn’t ready to move along just yet.
Edwards said he expects a chilly, overcast day on March 8, with a potential for flurries and a high of 37 degrees.
Temperatures are expected to remain in the low to mid 40s over the weekend. While March 9 looks to be uneventful, March 10 could get interesting, according to Edwards.
A storm building off the west coast has the potential to bring snow to the area. Whether it will pay a visit to Morgantown remains to be seen.
“Right now it looks like it’s trending a bit south of Morgantown, but it’s pretty early. There are really still too many variables to get specific, but certainly there’s a possibility of some snow,” he said.
Sunday morning also marks the end of daylight savings time, meaning clocks need to be set back one hour.
Edwards said he expects things to cool off even more next week, with temperatures struggling to get above freezing by the weekend.
