CHARLESTON — Several hundred oil and gas workers gathered at the foot of the Capitol steps the morning of Feb. 21 to rally for energy jobs.
A cool breeze — the front edge of an approaching rain storm — tempered the summery 76 degree warmth as they waved their signs and cheered the speakers.
Legislators and industry leaders voiced their support for the workers the future of the industry and pro-industry legislation working its way through the House and Senate.
Delegate Mark Zatezalo, R-Hancock, told the workers, “You’re sitting on the start of what could be a major turning point for the whole state.”
